🎭 The Birmingham Repertory Theatre: A BTEC Drama Workshop Experience

A group of Year 10 drama students recently engaged in an educational excursion to the Birmingham Repertory Theatre to deepen their professional knowledge. The visit featured a backstage tour including the wings and the auditorium and highlighted various technical specialities, such as scenography (set design, lighting design), costume creation (wigs and prosthetics), and stage management.

Beyond observing these production elements, the pupils participated in a practical acting masterclass facilitated by an expert to stimulate their upcoming course-related creative projects. This hands-on experience was designed to illustrate the collaborative efforts required to execute a large-scale theatrical performance.

Throughout the day, the students represented the academy exceptionally well, earning praise for their exemplary conduct from the theatre staff. This initiative successfully provided the learners with artistic inspiration and a broader perspective on potential career paths within the industry.
