Student Events

Events

Post 16 students take part in a number of events over the two years. To develop team building and to ensure students work together, we arrange team building activities at local centres like Ackers Adventure Centre, Bear Grylls Adventure, Tenpin bowling, Laser Quest as well as at Grace Academy. This shows students the importance of working as part of a team, building confidence and relationships across the sixth form.

Students also take part in charity events throughout the year which helps strengthen their personal development and values, as well as them gaining valuable transferable skills like communication, leadership and problem solving. These have included Yr 7 & Yr 8 film nights, Community Christmas fair stalls and the Community elderly Christmas meal.

Our business partners deliver a large range of workshops to our students which complements and reinforces values, culture and their learning opportunity. External companies have been in school to deliver workshops on Time Management, Ace your exams, Money Matters – TSB/Natwest, Presentation skills with public speaking – IM Group, and work experience preparation followed by a two-week work experience placement. We have students who have successfully completed the Career Ready programme which has included a paid internship at the end of Y12.

We have a number of international trips that we have run over the last few years giving the students a chance to develop cultural sensitivity, build their confidence and adapt to globalisation. Some of the recent trips we have run in Post 16 have been to Rome, Paris, Mexico and Andorra.
