Events
Post 16 students take part in a number of events over the two years. Team building, in order to ensure students work together we arrange team building activities, some of these have been completed at Ackers Adventure Centre as well as at Grace Academy Solihull and Bear Grylls Adventure. This shows students the importance of working as part of a team.
Students take part in charity events throughout the year which helps strengthen their personal values as well as them gaining valuable transferable skills. These have included Yr 7 & 8 film nights, Community Christmas fair stalls and the Christmas meal.
Our business partners deliver a large range of workshops to our students which complements and reinforces values, culture and their learning opportunity. External companies have been in school to deliver workshops on Time Management, Ace your exams, Money Matters – TSB, Presentation skills with public speaking – IM Group, and work experience preparation followed by a two-week work experience placement.
We have a number of international trips that we have run over the last few years giving the students a chance to develop cultural sensitivity, build their confidence and adapt to globalisation.
Some recent trips we have ran in Post 16 have been to Rome, Paris, Mexico and Andorra. Our business partners deliver a large range of workshops to our students which complements and reinforces values, culture and their learning opportunity.
