Grace Academy Solihull students continues to achieve outstanding GCSE results

Students at Grace Academy Solihull were celebrating another year of outstanding GCSE results with the Academy continuing to excel. 

Student performance in Maths and English continues to be strong with the vast majority of students achieving Grades 4 to 9 in both subjects.

The academy continues to achieve well in a range of academic subjects including Biology, Chemistry and French, where more than 95% of students achieved Grades 4 to 9, and Physics, where nearly half the students achieved the highest grades possible. Students also excelled in other areas of a broad and balanced curriculum with 100% of students achieving a good pass in subjects such as Drama and Media Studies and more than half the students achieving distinction or higher in IT.

Reflecting upon this year’s results, Principal Matthew Godwin said:“ I am delighted with the remarkable GCSE results our Year 11 students have achieved this year. Their success is a testament to their perseverance and ambition, strengthened by the tireless efforts of our staff and the constant support of parents and carers. Watching these young people develop, overcome challenges, and reach their goals has been a genuine privilege.”

Individual successes were seen across the cohort as students worked tirelessly to meet the challenges of the last few years. Year 11 student Jay Brady from Grace Academy Solihull, who achieved grade 9, the highest possible, in five subjects as well as four grade 8s in his other subjects said: “I genuinely cannot believe the grades I got, I am astounded, but with the amazing teachers here at Grace, anything is possible.”

Student Kimberley Cheung, who achieved 8 GCSEs at grade 8 or above, including grade 9s in Chemistry, English Literature, History and Maths, said: “Throughout the years at Grace, I am truly grateful for the teachers’ help for all the grades I have gotten today. I am also thankful for the school’s support all the time!”

Commenting on the academy’s outstanding results, Executive Principal Darren Gelder said:  “Once again, the combined commitment of students, families, and staff has produced an exceptional set of outcomes that will serve as a strong springboard for whatever comes next. I wish every student the very best as they move forward as confident, thoughtful, and well‑prepared individuals. I have every faith that they will continue to thrive and make a positive impact in the world.”
