Year 8 kick off their football season with a win!

The Year 8 Football team travelled to Park Hall Academy recently where they played their first league match of the season. The game started off fairly even with both teams having good spells of possession and creating opportunities, however it was Park Hall that took the lead from a fantastic strike from one of their players to make it 1-0. Team Grace showed fantastic resilience and teamwork to continue the attacking spells and created lots of chances, with Isaiah’s shot bouncing just off the post and a few others that were tipped over the crossbar.

Just before halftime, Team Grace determination paid off which allowed some excellent build up play to support each other as well as allowing Isaiah to score a fantastic goal to make the score line 1-1. Tyler Chambers was then the second on the scoresheet making it 2-1 to Grace.

During the second half, the boys dug deep and remained defensively strong to ensure that they kept the scoreline at 2-1. Jude Hawkins also managed to make an excellent goal line clearance, heading the ball just over the bar so that Park Hall could not score in the last few moments of the game.

The boys had an excellent attitude throughout the game and their determination throughout was commendable. Well done boys on a first, and well deserved win!
