Grace Academy Solihull hosts Primary Archery Event

Grace Academy Solihull hosts Primary Archery Event

On Wednesday 9 March, nine primary schools from the local area attended an Archery Event which was hosted here at Grace Academy Solihull (GAS) and was led by our excellent Year 9 leaders. The Primary Schools which attended each entered teams of 4 to compete in a variety of different activities with their scores being recorded throughout. Each team were accompanied from station to station in the event by their GAS Year 9 leader who assisted with offering additional demonstrations and tips where required to ensure pupils managed to have the best experience possible. The 3 events which each team participated in were:

  1. Throwing bean bags into their colour coded hoops.
  2. Using an Archery bow to get their arrows into the “moat” or the “castle”.
  3. Target Archery.

All Primary School students who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves and left the event with either a participation certificate or a bronze, silver or gold certificate depending on their final scores. The Year 9 leaders assisted with the certificate ceremony and were praised for their hard work and enthusiasm by the School Sport Leader, Chris who was in charge of the event, but also by the Primary School Teachers.

Well done to our Year 9 Sports Leaders for being such excellent ambassadors of our academy!
