Free Fruit For Students

Students of Grace Academy Solihull were provided with free fruit by the school.
The fruit was available in the various canteen areas and students were encouraged by staff to take a piece of fruit each. The academy realises the pressure and stress that students can feel at times, especially in relation to Covid, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle helps students deal with these challenges.
Also as fruit is not always a chosen food group by young people at lunch times, especially those in the 11 -16 and Post 16 age groups, the school thought this would be a good way of exposing them to this, and in an environment that would hopefully encourage them to give something new a try.
“It’s really good to have fruit at lunch, it reminds me to eat healthier. I don’t always choose healthier food, but because it was free I had it first” – Sophie Cooke (Yr 8).
