Big Bang Fair!

Earlier this term our Year 8 students attended one of the biggest STEM conventions for young people at the NEC, called the Big Bang Fair.
Students got involved in hands-on activities, talking to STEM professionals and learning more about different careers in Science. With a whole host of things to see and do, our students got stuck into everything ranging from ecology and wildlife care, to sitting in a road traffic control car. Students even had the opportunity to hold a stick insect – and yes it really does feel like a stick! The main stage saw fun and interactive demonstrations on reactive elements and static electricity, including one of Grace Academy Solihull’s very own assistants! Well done to our students (or should I say, future scientists!) for representing the Academy with exceptional behaviour and making the most of this fantastic trip.
