Shakespeare come to Grace Academy Solihull

Shakespeare come to Grace Academy Solihull

On Friday 23rd of June Grace Academy Solihull was lucky enough to play host to two very talented young actors, Christopher Commander and Skylar Mulby, who whirled through the corridors and classrooms performing a range of three minute soliloquys and monologues from some of Shakespeare’s most famous plays.

Mr Gelder popped in and was wowed by both the students and the performers.

From ‘Romeo and Juliet’ to ‘Richard the III’ students were treated to RSC-worthy performances, popping up in the middle of their English lessons. Our students engaged fully with the actors, asking and answering a range of questions from ‘what do you think is the most under-rated Shakespeare play?’ to ‘why is Shakespeare still relevant today?’. The event was organised by Solihull CEP, and the actors did a fantastic job of bringing Shakespeare to life for our students. As ever, the students made the most of the opportunity and showed interest, enthusiasm and enjoyment throughout the experience!
