Armistice Day (Remembrance Day)

Armistice Day (Remembrance Day) Observation

Armistice Day, also known as Remembrance Day marks the day World War I ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918, and today we at Grace Academy Solihull have joined the Nation to pause and reflect on the impact of this war, World War II and more recent conflicts that are impacting our world. Students of our academy were also asked to particularly think about and acknowledge the sacrifices people have made for our freedoms.

“The video and tutor time activities have helped me to think about what Remembrance Day is all about. How we have freedom now because of the sacrifice people have made. It has made me thankful for the British Army” – Mason Y9

Poppies were also able to be purchased by staff and students, funds for which will go back to The Royal British Legion.
