The Lilly-Jo Project comes to Grace Academy Solihull

The Lilly-Jo Project comes to Grace Academy Solihull

On September 8th we were pleased to welcome The Lilly-Jo Project into the academy, which is a fantastic organisation that focuses on providing coping strategies surrounding mental health.  The team from the Lilly-Jo Project delivered an exciting workshop for all our Y7 students, which addressed the impact of change and transition on our mental health.

Students were taught how to identify emotions during change, tools they can use to manage emotions through change, and how to build resilience while dealing with the challenges that come with change, in any form. Students were polled after the event and 99% of our new Year 7 cohort said that the session was really helpful and gave them useful information on how to deal with change. Also 98% of students said that they now know more ways to deal with anxious thoughts because of the workshop.

At Grace Academy Solihull we feel it’s important to support our whole school community in any way possible but particularly around mental health and that includes our students’ parents and carers. Therefore we are happy to also provide a parent/carer specific link to free useful information around mental health.

The link below will direct you to resources such as:

  • Quick tools you can use each day to support your child
  • Webinars on supporting children and teens’ mental health
  • Webinars to support your own mental health
  • Music, podcasts, and blogs about different mental health topics, curated specifically for parents/carers
