Big Brum Theatre in Education Performances

On Monday 10th March and Tuesday 11th March 2025 our Year 10’s and 11’s were fortunate enough to take part in a theatre in education performance and workshop by Big Brum T.I.E company. This was based on the story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and included themes of relationships, human nature and good vs evil.

The students left thinking deeply about how society can often portray people differently. They looked at the symbolic ideas that mirrors are only a reflection of what you want to see, and doors can be used for you to control who to let into your lives.

One of our Year 11 students who watched the performance said “it really showed how other people live and how easy it is to judge people regardless of their situations and backgrounds”.

A massive thanks to Big Brum Theatre  – another cultural capital opportunity which was well received by all students involved. Each and every one of the pupils in both year groups were a credit to the academy and themselves – they were engaged throughout and echoed our value of excellence.
