Year 12 Students Step Into the World of Work — and Shine!

From primary schools to GP surgeries, students leave a lasting impression on local employers.

Earlier this month, every single Year 12 student at our academy swapped classrooms for real-world workplaces during their two-week work experience placements — and the results were nothing short of inspiring.

From lending a helping hand in busy infant and primary schools to supporting frontline staff in GP surgeries, our students embraced the challenge of stepping into adult professional environments. The placements weren’t just a taste of the working world — they became a platform for students to demonstrate maturity, adaptability, and genuine enthusiasm.

Employers across the board praised the students for their confidence, professionalism, and ability to build strong relationships with both colleagues and young people. One standout success? Several students impressed their placements so much that they’ve already been invited back — volunteering at local nurseries and even helping out at upcoming sports days at our feeder schools.

These hands-on experiences have also helped many students solidify their future ambitions. For some, the spark of inspiration has turned into a clear career path — with plans now forming around university degrees and future roles in education, healthcare, and beyond.

This work experience wasn’t just about ticking a box — it was about growth, connection, developing employability skills and purpose. A huge congratulations to all involved. Your dedication and work ethic reflect the very best of our academy’s values, and we can’t wait to see where you go from here.
