NHS Day in the Life of a Midwife

A select group of  year 10 students were invited to Birmingham’s Heartlands Hospital to experience ‘A Day In The Life of a Midwife’. Students took part in group activities and moved around different workshops, where they were able to experience procedures for caesarean sections, water births, breastfeeding care, neonatal care and as well as getting the chance to discuss what pathways  a person can take to get into Midwifery & Nursing.

Our students displayed Grace Values throughout the day and asked many questions about other professions in the NHS. Our thanks go to the Midwife Team at Heartlands Hospital for this opportunity as all students said it was a really beneficial experience that gave them a well rounded insight into the role of being a midwife and nurse.
