The Brilliant Club
We are delighted to celebrate the success of four of our students: Havanna Smith, Alana-Louise Bishop, Phoebe Fairshephard, and Kyla Irwin, who have successfully completed the Brilliant Club program.
This success has come as a result of an almost 1 year process of working closely with a specialist tutor, to produced outstanding work in the form of a 1500 word essay on Natural Disasters.
These essays were assessed to university standards by their tutor, and the results were truly commendable. Additionally, two of the students have achieved a remarkable 1st (80/100) on their essays, showcasing their dedication and academic ability.
Furthermore, we are proud to share that our students have represented the academy exceptionally well, receiving glowing feedback from their tutor. Their commitment and hard work have been recognised, with the tutor noting them as ‘the most hardworking group they have had the pleasure to work with‘.
We congratulate and commend these student on their achievement as not only was this completed in addition to their normal school work, the standards they have shown are on par with those of university level students.
We would also like to acknowledge the teachers that assisted with the setup of Brilliant Club program, as well as the other teaching staff who supported the students in keeping up with their normal lessons during their Brilliant Club program. Final thanks goes to the parents/carers of these students as their support has been invaluable in encouraging the students through the process, which at times had a high workload.
The Brilliant Club works with schools and universities across the UK and the charity exists to increase the number of pupils from underrepresented backgrounds progressing to highly-selective universities.
