Speaker’s Trust Workshop
On Tuesday 5th of March, Grace Academy Solihull once again played host to the Speaker’s Trust workshop. This was a fantastic opportunity for thirty of our year 10 students to develop their public speaking skills. We are so proud of all those who participated, pushing themselves out of their comfort zones to get involved.
Through the day, students engaged in activities designed to gradually build confidence in speaking in front of others. From there, we started drafting our own speeches, choosing topics to interest, persuade, and entertain. In period 5, all participating students were able to present their speeches to each other in small groups, and some even managed to speak before the whole class.
From here, some of our students will move on to give speeches in assembly, for the chance to enter the Speak Out! Challenged later this year.
As an Academy, we are always delighted to be able to offer students chances and opportunities to develop their skills outside of lessons.
