Houses of Parliament & Natural History Museum Trip

Houses of Parliament & Natural History Museum Trip

Earlier this term, 30 of our brightest year 8 and 9 students were fortunate enough to embark on an educational trip to London which included, going on a in depth tour of the Houses Of Parliament. Students were taken into the House of Lords and House of Commons, where they learnt the in’s and out’s of how our Government is run.
Students also had the unique opportunity of meeting and discussing politics with our Meriden MP, Saqib Bhatti, showing our students an example of the workload and career path of someone involved in politics.  One of our students referred to the experience as a “once in a lifetime experience….entering the house of lords through the king’s entrance and being in a room that so many important people have been in”.
The trip concluded with a brief stop at the Natural History Museum, allowing students to absorb rich history and artefacts, before returning back to the Academy. Each and everyone of the 30 pupils were a credit to the academy and themselves, echoing our values of excellence throughout the day.
