Year 13s in celebratory football match with teaching staff

Year 13s set the ball rolling for a celebratory football match against teaching staff to mark the end of their final year at the Academy.

Teachers Matt Godwin, Jake Upton, Blaine Wakeman, Anton Nunes and Tom Able, took on the Year 13s in a football play-off after school which saw the students competing on equal terms with staff.

Matt Godwin said: “It was a really great, fun atmosphere with a good level of sportsmanship, and it was a great idea.  Because we had worked with students as a team together for so many years, it was nice to see them mark their final year in this way, becoming adults and competing on equal terms with staff before moving on to further education and their future careers.”
