Local Beavers Complete IT Badge At Grace Academy!

Twenty-five Beavers, aged from 6 to 7 years old, were awarded their IT badges by Darren Gelder, Principal, after coming into the school and using Grace Academy’s computers to complete their tasks.

Denise Makepeace, Beaver Leader, 1st Chelmsley Wood Scout Group, said:

“Thank you so much for a wonderful evening at Grace Academy. The IT session was fantastic. The Beavers were focused and engaged in the tasks they were set. They all enjoyed it so much and were so excited to tell their parents and even their teachers all about it. Your facilities were exceptional and without this opportunity the Beavers would not have gained their Digital Citizen Badge.

“Following this visit, Mr Gelder, the Principal, graced us with his presence down at our Scout Hut to present the well-earned Digital Citizen Badges to our Beavers. They were so excited and Mr Gelder congratulated each and every one on their achievement with the badge and a firm scouters handshake.

“Thank you once again for your warm welcome and hospitality. We look forward to arranging some more of the activities you have to offer.”

Maxine Bromley, Family Support worker, added:

“It is great that we can share our resources to benefit organisations in the local community, providing the Beavers with access to our computers and printers to help them finish their projects.  As well as hosting the event, we were also able to offer juice and biscuits to the learners and plan some more positive learning opportunities for the group.”
