After achieving its best set of results for eight years last year, Grace Academy’s Post-16 Centre continued the upward trend with an increase of 15% in the number of students achieving at least three A Level (or equivalent) passes, compared to last year.

In many cases high performing students went beyond their target grades with a higher than expected percentage of students achieving A* to B grades.

The vast majority of subjects continued to maintain a 100% pass rate at A Level and Matt Godwin, Vice Principal, said:

“Teaching is strong and consistently improving. Our big focus this year has been on encouraging students to take more ownership of their studies. This inspired them to have higher aspirations and achieve higher results. The change in the students’ attitudes towards their studies has improved their life chances and opportunities to progress on to their chosen careers.”

The number of those applying for university has risen from 20% to 50% over the past two years and the Academy continues to anticipate further improvements over the next five years. All the students who applied to university have been offered a place and will be moving on to the next step in their educational journey.

Darren Gelder, Principal, Grace Academy, added:

“This is another excellent set of results showing the year on year progress of the Academy.  The dedication of students, parents, carers and staff is evident in what our students have achieved.  These results make me immensely proud.”
