New Minibus Means More Educational Trips For More Students

Grace Academy has invested over £20,000 in a new minibus to take students on educational trips outside school.

The Minibus Lite has wheelchair access and can be driven by anyone with a driving license as it is under 3.5 tons.  This means students in wheelchairs will be able to travel with their friends, rather than separately, and more drivers will be available to take students to sporting and other community events and venues.

Darren Gelder, Principal, said, “This reflects the fact that we are an inclusive school.  We have a number of wheelchair users and we felt strongly that they shouldn’t miss out on the opportunities provided to other students. Our minibus carries over 2,700 students each year to various educational activities and the new minibus is an investment to take the school forward as we continue to achieve outstanding results.”
