Grace Academy Solihull Celebrates Best A Level Results for 8 Years

Students from Grace Academy Solihull’s Post-16 Centre are celebrating achieving the Academy’s best set of results for eight years.

Under the leadership of new Principal Darren Gelder, who was appointed in September 2014, the Academy has shown considerable improvement with a 10% increase in students achieving at least three A Level passes, compared to last year.

This represents a 32 point increase per student this year, which equates to an overall improvement of a full A Level grade, and all subjects achieved a 100% pass rate at A Level.

Matthew Godwin, Head of Post-16, said:

“I am extremely proud of all the students for what they have achieved this summer. We have made some significant changes here at Grace Academy Post- 16 Centre since I took over in October, and it is great to see the benefits of the hard work put in by the staff and students over the past few months. It just shows that with the right level of support and guidance, our students really can flourish and achieve some great results. We will be saying goodbye to them this week and wish them well on their future journey, whether that is University, an apprenticeship or the start of their careers.”

An increased number of students achieved at the very top of their studies with an increased number of A grades at both A Level and AS.

Darren Gelder, Principal, Grace Academy Solihull, said:

“This is an excellent set of results and confirms the Academy’s continued improvement. It is a testament to the hard work of students and staff at the Academy, as well as parents and carers who have supported the Academy throughout the year.”
